OUR STORY
The story of Tranquility Camp begins in 1926 when Garden State Academy (GSA) was founded. It continued to be an Adventist institution belonging to the New Jersey Conference of SDA for over 75 years. After closing, GSA became Tranquility Camp (formerly known as Tranquil Valley Retreat) Center located in Sussex County New Jersey; 'Where people and nature come together'.
We invite you to experience peace and relaxation in our newly renovated lodging spaces, Ellis Hall and Bulford Hall. Enjoy our large gymnasium, scenic nature trails, beautiful campgrounds, and a state-of-the-art indoor pool, along with all our other fantastic facilities. Interim Camp Genral Manager - David Nazaire
David has spent more than 15 years at Tranquility Camp —volunteer, as staff, lifeguard, and a serving member of the Camp Committee. Today he oversees the facilities, all day to day operations, guest experiences and the ministry of the camp. He serves as head elder at the Hackettstown SDA Church and looks forward to serving all who visit the camp.
